The Hero's Journey

I lost a friend last weekend.
He slipped away before I had a chance to say good bye.
His dying left painful holes in social communities all around the city
And an empty place in my heart that will always search for
His bear-like presence
His warm hugs.
His off color puns
And his impish “Oh! Did I say something wrong?” grin
I will miss you, my friend.

  1. Hello,
I hopped over here from a post on Paul’s Friends Facebook page. Nice to see you. Liking what I’ve read here so far. I will miss Paul; though I hadn’t had a regular connection with him. I can just see him looking at all of us from Summerland and how we’re suddenly connecting all over the place …and archly thinking “Me? I had nothing to do with it!”

Bright blessings and a little saltwater,

  2. Dear Ones,

We have lost our dear friend. Paul was my first assistant husband when I needed taking to the doctor or to radiation treatment. He talked to George in depth several times a week or more. He was involved and interested in many groups and areas of culture and technology. I automatically say, “Paul would be interested in that!” then remember, he is in Summerland.

    1. Suzy, I am hoping to make it to Portland for the memorial. I also shared the news with Robin here in Hadlock…So many things will be different without him. Please do connect when you are in my neighborhood again. Blessings,
      Nora Love to George too.
